A Service Project for Teenagers: Take TEMPORARY care of at least two kittens for at least 8 weeks. Up to one "volunteer hour" per day
I am developing a "service project" for students.
Many high school students need about 40 hours of service as volunteers. One way (during a pandemic) is to do the hours at home. Why not recruit teenagers to be TEMPORARY FOSTER PARENTS of cats and kittens?

Nutrish Purrfect entrees. 2 per day = $2 x 56 days

Nutrish Purrfect Broth (with 92% moisture, 8% protein broth). 2 packets per day = $2 x 56 days
CP numbers are from Van Ness litter pans
pans. $5 x 4 pans. plus 1 pan for $4 and scoop for $1 (Dollar Tree)
CALCULATION OF COSTS
======================
A round $470 per project. That's why Animals Come First, a non profit charity, seeks donations from manufacturers. What about flea medication? 2 kittens x $10 x 2 applications = $40
Thanks for reading this far.

THE CALCULATION of hours over 8 weeks
8 weeks x 7 days = 56 days
Each day there are about 45-60 minutes of work to do to keep kittens:
fed
entertained
clean (especially their surroundings)
Feeding: 5 minutes per meal x 5 meals a day = 25 minutes
Entertaining: at least once every 3 hours give at least one minute of total attention (use the SLOW-LOW-2-5-5 approach): 7 am, 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm, 7 pm, 10 pm = 6 times per day = 6 minutes
Cleaning: Sweep the area (away from carpet. The kitten area should be able to be cleaned to wood or cement or tile/ceramic. ). 5 minutes of cleaning DAILY.
Removing poop from the litter box: Stoop to Scoop the Poop at least 4 times a day x 30 seconds per litter box (as many as 8 times a day, three litter boxes for two kittens) =
Four times >> 4 times x 30 seconds x 3 boxes = 360 seconds = 6 minutes a day on litter boxes
Six times >> 6 times x 30 seconds x 3 boxes = 540 seconds = 9 minutes a day on litter boxes
Feed = 25
Entertain = 4 to 6 minutes a day
Cleaning (sweep and mopping) 5 minutes per day
Poop removal: 6 to 9 minutes per day
TOTAL: 25 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 40 to 45 minutes per day.
8 weeks = 56 days
45 minutes = 0.75 hours per day
0.75 hours/day x 56 days = 42 volunteer hours over 8 weeks.
Many students need 40 volunteer hours for their graduation.
